Three straight days of wind and rain hit the brakes the day of the event and the skies broke wide open with Carlsbad sunshine for the 2nd Annual North Eats event. Hundreds of guests mixed and mingled, sampled dishes from some of North County’s best restaurants and grooved to live jazz before cheering on two skate heroes and executive chefs paired up for the annual Cook or Kook competition.

In the end, skate legend Steve Caballero and Chef Stephen Reyna of The Privateer were crowned the Cooks, despite the effort from Mike McGill and Chef Andrew Bachelier of Cucina Enoteca.

If you missed this year’s event, check out what the participants served up a few weeks ago so you can be sure to prep your tastebuds for 2016!

We’ve broken out this year’s North Eats participants by city, including Carlsbad, San Marcos, Leucadia, Encinitas, Cardiff, Solana Beach, Del Mar and more so make sure to visit them all!
