Food and music are two worlds I love. When I heard about Anuhea (award winning, top charting artist from Hawaii) singing at The Cork & Craft while being served savory dishes from Chef Phillip Esteban (The Cork & Craft) and dessert from Chef Kristianna Zabala (Nomad Donuts), I was quick to buy a ticket. I became a part of the intimate audience experiencing this sold out event. Marrying food and music together. What could be better than that?
“How we say cheers in Hawaii is ‘Okole maluna’ which literally means bottoms up” - Anuhea
The service started with Katsu Spam Musubi, an amuse bouche. A little something to stimulate our appetite.
Next came the Seared Ahi Tuna.
In between the second and third course, Anuhea takes the stage. She sings, talks story, and answers questions from the dinner crowd. The third dish served was the Macadamia Encrusted Sea Bass: Asparagus, Peas, Butter Cream, Nasturtium.
The last savory dish, the entrée, Roasted Pig: Mac Salad, Blackberry Mustarda, Crispy Skin.
For the dessert course, Chef Kristianna Zabala from Nomad Donuts created the Chocolate Ganache Bar: Haupia, Macadamia Nut Crueller, Passionfruit.

With each course, everything on the plate tasted delicious individually. Although, when you used the fork to grab each element on the plate for one complete bite, the dish really sang! Pun intended. Everything harmonized. It hit all the notes. I could go on and on…lol
