MAINLAND
Onoyum is our way of saying “delicious”. We are obsessed with the task of helping you satisfy your cravings. First we brought you I Love Poke in 2010, an event dedicated to your favorite fish dish (properly pronounced poh-keh). But now that poke shops be openin up on a daily we wanted to make sure we stay true to our calling by creating an extensive list of mainland poke shops. Yep, we’ve done the research and we will continue to update this list as we discover more businesses. (Holla at us if you know something we don’t!)
Let’s clear something up doe. We are on the mainland, not in Hawaii. Some of these restaurants will have Hawaiian style poke, and some of these restaurants will have “poke-inspired” dishes. (Let’s be honest, some of the stuff we’re seein out there is NOT poke, but it’s still delicious) We understand that things will evolve and we know that nothing will ever replace going to the market in Hawaii and getting scoops and scoops of poke for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our hope is that this new wave of poke restaurateurs will provide us with the “next best thing” and that they would do it with respect to the origin of where this dish came from.
